Dr. Charles B. Idom Jr.
Dr. Charles B. Idom Jr. grew up in a small town in East Texas. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in physics as an undergraduate and a Masters of Science in physics from the University of Mississippi in 1989. Dr. Idom obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1994. He completed his internship and residency at the Department of Surgery and Urology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN.
Dr. Idom has been integral in advancing Urologic care in our area since his arrival to north Georgia in 2001. He began performing the first minimally invasive prostate brachytherapy and cryosurgical procedures for Urologic malignancies at Hamilton Medical Center in 2002. He also spearheaded the effort to establish a robotics program at Hamilton Medical Center in 2009, which continues to grow today.
Dr. Idom is an outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing. He is also an avid guitar player. He also enjoys local high school and college sports, especially football. Dr. Idom’s greatest joy comes from spending time with his wife Dawn and their three children Olivia, Emily and Charlie and attending his church, Christ Church Presbyterian.
Dr. Joseph A. Veys
Dr. Joseph Veys was born in Buffalo, NY. He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was a valedictorian and National Merit Scholar at Sycamore High School. He graduated from M.I.T. in 1995 with a BS in biology, receiving the Hodges Prize for outstanding thesis. Dr. Veys earned his MD in 1999 from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health. He then did a urology residency in Winston-Salem, NC at Wake Forest University, where he received the 2003 Gold Award in Clinical Sciences for his research on kidney cancer.
Dr. Veys began practicing at North Georgia Urology Center in 2006 and is board certified. In his free time he enjoys racquetball, reading, spicy food, bargain hunting and spending time with his wife, Emma, and their four children.
Patrick H. Foley
Dr. Patrick H. Foley was born and raised in West Palm Beach, FL. He earned his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL in 1986 and his Medical Doctorate from The University of Miami (FL) in 1990. He completed General Surgery and Urology training at Emory University Hospital Systems in Atlanta, GA in 1996.
Dr. Foley practiced urology in Chattanooga, TN for 22 years. He did the first robotic surgery for prostate cancer in Chattanooga in 2003 and has done over 1000 robotic prostate surgeries. Although he has a special interest in prostate problems, Dr. Foley practices all aspects of urology including erectile dysfunction, stones and incontinence.
When not working, Dr Foley is an avid fly fisherman. He also enjoys reading and spending his time with his large extended family.
Denise White, PA-C
Denise has been practicing as a PA in Dalton since 2010.
She graduated from the University of Georgia in 2004. She received her Emergency Medical technician certification and worked in the Emergency Room for two years prior to attending PA school. In 2010 Denise graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at the Medical College of Georgia. She graduated with recognition in both Alpha Eta Society and PI Alpha National Honor Society at the Medical College of Georgia.
Denise is blessed with a dedicated husband and two high energy sons. She enjoys reading, running, hiking, and playing Soccer and Lacrosse with her sons.
Kimberly “Dawn” Slatton, FNP-C
Dawn spent the majority of her nursing career working in the emergency department. She obtained her Associate of Nursing from Chattanooga State in 2007. She then earned her master of science with a dual emphasis in family and acute care at Southern Adventist University in 2017. Dawn received a clinical excellence award, as well as recognition by Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing.
She is married and has one daughter. Dawn enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends. She lives on a farm, is an avid horse rider, loves dogs, and enjoys being outdoors as much as she can.
